Smoky Beef Chili with Apple Cider and Black Olives

Ingredients

1 1/2pounds lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1tablespoon ground cumin
1tablespoon chili powder
1tablespoon Dijon mustard
2teaspoons coarse salt
2teaspoons dried basil
1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (14-ounce) can diced stewed tomatoes
1 (14-ounce) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
1 apple cider (or juice)
1cup water
1 (15-ounce) can cannellini beans
1 (4-ounce) can sliced California Ripe Olives
Shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown beef with onion and garlic 5 minutes. Add tomato paste, cumin, chili powders, mustard, salt and basil. Cook 10 minutes. Add tomatoes (undrained), apple cider and water. Simmer 30 minutes. Add beans and olives. Cook 10 minutes. Serve with shredded cheese.
